AFRT takes first place in the Coed Division! And fourth overallout of 40 teams! Karen, Jeff and Don completed this course in 6:02. The race was held in the Umstead State Park/Crabtree County Park area in Raleigh and Cary, NC.

The Inaugural AdventureXstream Expedition Adventure Race, UT - Oct 6-10, 2004
text AFRT comes in 6th in the 4-person Coed Division! Karen, Jeff, Kevin, and Don completed this 275 mile course in just over 82 hours. The expedition length race was held in the area around Moab, Utah.

The 5th Annual NC Police and Fire Adventure Race, NC - Sep 26, 2004
Don and Jeff standing beside race director Bruce Dale AFRT takes second place in the Open Division! Don and Jeff completed this course in 5:11, coming in second in the civilian category. Officially we were 4th fastest overall, out of 44+ teams. The race was held in the Umstead State Park/Crabtree County Park area in Raleigh and Cary, NC. The 3rd Annual Raging Russell Team Adventure Race, GA - Nov 15/16, 2003
What next? Since no one has accused us of having good sense, we skipped over the 3-5 hour long "sprint" adventure races and went straight for something more intimidating. How about an 18-20 hour, 70-75 mile, "dusk to dawn" adventure race, in November? As a true adventure race, this one required navigating ourselves to the various checkpoints, mostly in the dark, in a strange location. This one takes our Adventure storytelling to a new level!!

Virginia's New River Trail Challenge, VA - Sep 20, 2003
The first event we attempted was the Virgina's New River Trail Challenge, which was really a "wilderness triathlon", not an adventure race. It was almost 8 hours and 65 miles of outdoor fun! We worked together as a team and had a blast doing it!
